Contrary to their claim to fame, the Khajuraho temples are not home to more than 10% of erotic sculptures. The temples are exisitng proofs of the exceptionally advanced era that existed in the bygone centuries, 1000 years before the advent of computers. The precision of the replicas, the exact symmetries, the beautifully ornate details for ornaments and garments, the imagination behind the scenes depicted , the scales, Geometries of the plan , Science & Mathematics behind the architecture of the Construction, and the sheer expressions and grace in the human and divine forms..All takes one away to the land of abundance , extravangance, discipline and tremendous knowledge that existed in India then.
The most melancholy image etched in my mind is probably this one shot from series of pics taken at Chilka lake in Bhubaneshwar Orissa. The stillness of the place, mirrored reflections, dainty chirping of the morning birds against the changing hues of morning skies and the ocassional sound of the water dribbling from the flight of a joyously dipping bird are nothing one can probably experience elsewhere. The vast expanse of the beautiful Chilka embraces the Sun at its horizons. Could the humble fishing nets have looked any more beautiful than here.. Lying in wait neatly rolled.. Eager to get drenched in the waters.
